Grandview - Luxurious Entertainer with Spectacular Views

Grandview is a luxurious home with entertaining and relaxation in mind, it has spectacular harbour and hinterland views, a games room, pool table, cinema room, 2 entertaining decks and multiple indoor living and entertaining rooms. With 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, Grandview can accommodate up to 12 guests (max 10 adults) in style and comfort.

Grandview really lives up to its name, with breathtaking views of the glistening harbour, volcanically formed Yacaaba Headland and open ocean to the east, Boat Harbour and the sand dune system to Newcastle to the south, and more of the harbour and distant mountain ranges to the west.

Ground Floor - Houses the cinema room with 9 electric, leather recliners, LED stair lighting and a 75 inch TV. The cinema accesses the pool table room on one side and the main living room on the other. The large pool table room features floor-to-ceiling curved windows, a pool table and a sofa bed (can sleep 2 children upon application). The main living area has a 10 seater dining table and a spacious, fully equipped kitchen with stone bench tops. These areas open via bi-folds to a vast timber entertaining deck, complete with an outdoor 8 seater lounge, 8 seater alfresco dining table and a hooded BBQ. Drink, feast, chat and relax while gazing at the water, headland and treetop views. There’s a bathroom on this level and a bedroom with 2 single zip beds. As you enter the home you’re greeted by modern architecture and two storey high ceilings, leading to a grand staircase.

Top Floor - Features a second lounge room with TV, a bathroom and another balcony with an outdoor lounge suite. The master bedroom has a king bed, TV, ensuite with free-standing bath and lovely views. Another bedroom, with 2 single zip beds, also has an ensuite and splendid views to the south and west. The remaining 2 bedrooms on this level each have a queen bed and one enjoys views to the east, while the other has views to the south.

Grandview has a double garage, laundry with washer and dryer and ducted air-con on both levels.

LINEN & TOWELS ARE SUPPLIED.

ACCOMMODATES MAXIMUM 10 Adults. There is a sofa bed (for children) that will be added to accommodate guests 11 & 12 ($100), total maximum guest 12.

BOND - a bond of $2000 that is payable with the balance of your accommodation and is refunded 3-5 days from your departure date.

OPTION 2: 2 King, 2 Queen, 2 Long singles.
OPTION 3: 3 King, 2 Queen.

Additional costs when booking:
Sofa Bed (children only) $100 per booking with towels and linen provided.
Port-a-Cot $50 per booking with towel, linen and baby blanket hire.
Beach/pool towels are $8 per towel hire/ per booking.

NO NOISE - The property is in a quiet residential area which is noise sensitive. Any noise after dark that causes neighbours to complain may result in the loss of your bond.

NO VISITORS - We have a strict policy in relation to 'visitors' to the property. A fee of $500 per head will be charged if additional people are found at the property that are over and above the number of beds at the property or guests not registered.

  On entering the house you are surprised by its size and spaciousness.The house was more than enough for our big family.The master bedroom was huge with large floor to ceiling windows to frame the beautiful landscape.The teenagers loved the huge and comfortable Media room and the Pool room.The kitchen was adequate for the size of the house.A good feature was the the Filtered water tap on the bench. On the negative side the tile floor in the kitchen was very sticky underfoot and ea had to mop it again.Probably too much floor cleaning liquid.I feel that the kitchen stove and range hood need a good clean.The ice maker in the fridge does not appear to work.The Dyson vaccuum cleaner does not charge...either the battery or the charger.The Exhaust fan in the main bathroom downstairs is coming away from the ceiling and the shower head in same bathroom is faulty...water comes out of connecting pipe to shower head making it difficult to shower.The toilet in same bathroom has trouble flushing....slow to operate. The outdoor BBQ was excellent and it was a good idea to have a spare bottle og gas as the one hooked up to bbq was empty.OVERALL IT WAS A PLEASANT STAY.

  We loved the home but there were a few things that were needing attention.
  The dishwasher didn’t work (we suspect the previous guest had the same issue as a dishwasher tablet was in the bottom still.) We tried all the troubleshooting in the manual but no luck.
  The kitchen bins are a terrible fit and it was a struggle to open the draw every time, and near impossible to close unless you manually held one of the bins up so as not to catch on the base of the cupboard.
  We expected necessities such as salt would be available.
  The Dyson vacuum in the garage didn’t work.

  This was an amazing house and the view was beautiful from almost every part of the house.
  Enjoyed everything the house had to offer, cinema room, outdoor area with the bbq, pool table and comfortable bedrooms with decent bathrooms. Only thing to note is you need to drive into town and beaches. Parking is limited with a steep driveway and road doesn't have much space. We had a boat and jetski and it was difficult to keep out the front. Lastly, neighbours are close to the house so need to be considerate about noise. Would go again if available.

  This is a great property our family loved it great views location was good the only issue was it was not very clean all the bathrooms had smear marks on the floors the kitchen bench looked like it was cleaned with the water from the floor and it could do with a good dusting I’m not one to complain but when you pay top dollar for a weekend stay I would think it would be cleaned correctly not for us to have to clean it to be able to enjoy it.

  10 of us had a really great weekend. 5 lovely bedrooms and multiple ensuites. Outdoor Space and views are stunning. We found fridge space limited for 10 adults self catering as there is just one fridge/freezer. When I contacted the management company to ask if there was a second small fridge elsewhere in the property I was surprised that the suggestion was for me to go to KMART and buy an Esky. We bought ice and improvised with a large plastic container one of the group had brought with them.

  The house and property lives up the the photos and once you pull up into the driveway we just said WOW until we reached the rear deck.
  But the little things did take some of the shine off
  - After advice the coffee machine is there and you take your pods as advised, we unpack and go to make a coffee and find the coffee machine doesn’t work. After a phone call to report this the machine was replaced the nest day.
  - In the theatre room the sound bar and TV didn’t work, no sound, have to use the TV speakers
  - salt shaker was there but there was no salt in it
  - weeds on paths and in pot plants
  When paying top dollar for accommodation you expect that these little things do work and are presented to match what you spend

  A lovely weekend stay with our family for my Mother's 80th birthday, the house was as pictured with lots of room to relax or play that fun game of pool. Kitchen was huge and perfect for the caterer to work his magic on our birthday dinner. Just a suggestion, more coffee mugs required for a group of 10, also the coffee machine did not work and the BBQ was in need of a clean before we used it.   The palace looking house siting at the corner of the hill with impressive views and very specious space every rooms , spotless clean in the kitchen and all rooms , all sheets are snow white cotton made which made the bed so comfy and warm , everything are like brand new , all of us were extremely happy with the stay . Each of us were so exciting when we arrived at 3pm in the afternoon , the golden sunset just in front of the gate which made a beautiful look picture , and the back yard with far ocean view and a lots greens surrounding the decking ....we had unforgettable happy hours there and we took a lot of photos to show our families and friends and also made video to post on media . The best thing is there are 4 bathrooms which is so convenient to us . To be honest nothing need to complain at all, we are very appreciate that the owner has left us two bottles of wine which made us feel really nice and kind. Thanks very much for such beautiful represented art designed home . I will give it a five star hotel grade .

  Great location at Nelson Bay for a big group or family. Loads of space, movie room, billiards table, enormous kitchen, fantastic 360 views. Five minutes from the water's edge and restaurants.

  Gorgeous house and amazing views from every room. Huge kitchen, relaxing outdoor deck and great cinema room and pool table. Nice furnishings and finishes throughout the house.
  
  A few improvements could be made however, particularly because of how much you pay to stay here. There was no toilet paper or paper towels for the property, would think this would be included in the rental. Kitchen was pretty bare also.
  
  Be prepared to feel like an intruder in the ‘community.’ We found a neighbour lurking on the doorstep and peeking in the windows. When asked if we could help him he complained about having a car parked in the street. There were 9 of us and 4 cars so we couldn’t fit all of them in the driveway and garage. He was very entitled and we didn’t appreciate the way he spoke to us. He asked us to move the car in front of the neighbours house which would have stuck out in the middle of the street. You can tell the neighbours don’t like having this house as a rental and will let you know about it.
  
  We received a call from the property manager at 8:15 pm on Easter Sunday as we had just sat down for Easter dinner. The owners had apparently come by the property and thought that we had too many people in the house. It was Easter weekend and the neighbours had guests over, cars parked in front of their house. The owners assumed they were our guests and accused us of having extra people at the property. To say we were annoyed was an understatement. We paid almost $6,000 to stay here and we were constantly being made to feel like we were doing something wrong when we were just trying to enjoy a relaxing long weekend. For these reasons I would not book this place again.
